SDPB Schedules Special Programming in Response to COVID Crisis

The news about Novel Coronavirus and COVID-19 is constantly being updated. SDPB has launched a special page - SDPB.org/Covid - where we're collecting the most up-to-date local, regional and national news. We also encourage you to follow the SD Department of Health's website at covid.sd.gov.

SDPB-TV Schedule Update

Beginning Monday, SDPB-TV will offer news briefs at 6:58pm CT, 5:58pm MT immediately following PBS NewsHour. These reports will encapsulate the news headlines regarding Coronavirus / COVID-19 in South Dakota.

Because of the cancellation of the SDHSAA Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments, SDPB TV has adjusted its broadcast schedule.

Thursday, March 19:

7pm CT, 6pm MT: On Call with the Prairie Doc®. Dr. Andrew Ellsworth will have the latest about Coronavirus and its physiological effects.

8pm CT, 7 MT: South Dakota Focus. Host Stephanie Rissler gathers a panel of experts to discuss the spread of Coronavirus and how it is affecting the state - from strains in the healthcare field to the economic impact.

9pm CT, 8 MT: Confronting Coronavirus: A PBS Newshour Special. Hosted by Judy Woodruff, the special will focus on health precautions for individuals and the public-at-large as well as the pandemic's economic impact in both the United States and globally. The show will include interviews with officials; reporting from NewsHour's special correspondents throughout the world; and a virtual town hall with curated questions from people across America, to be moderated by NewsHour correspondents Amna Nawaz and William Brangham.
