Cars are the leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. A professor from Dakota State University in Madison has a new grant to help with the transition to non-emitting electric vehicles.

Bhaskar Rimal is an Assistant Professor of Computer and Cyber Sciences. The South Dakota Board of Regents awarded him a $90,000 research grant to study the use of electric cars.

The goal of the study is to develop a stronger electric supply since the number of electric cars on the road is increasing. He also wants to find a faster way of communication between these cars and their communication networks.

Rimal hopes to expand the project to a bigger scale for the future.
