Reacting To Tragedy

In the wake of Friday's mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Dr. David Hulac discussed the human reactions of both children and parents to the horrible news.  Hulac is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.  Hulac visited about adolescent responses to hearing about trauma, how to help children and adolescents cope and effective school responses for children who may be struggling with the news from Connecticut.  Hulac is the author of the book "Behavioral Interventions in the Schools: A Response to Intervention Framework."
