Diana Rutherford's work is on display, along with her grandfather Harvey Dunn’s, in the exhibit, “Portraits,” at the South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings. “Portraits” contains 30 paintings that will be on display at the South Dakota Art Museum until September 8. Rutherford grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in the 1950s, and spent much of her time at the Chicago Art Institute admiring Japanese prints and medieval religious paintings. After high school, Rutherford was accepted to the Museum School in Boston, where she discovered her love for portrait painting. Rutherford currently lives in Florida and works as an artist.
