The Commemorative Air Force is a nonprofit organization dedicated to refurbishing and preserving historic combat airplanes. The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition, a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all U.S. military services and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans. The Joe Foss Squadron is the newest unit of the Commemorative Air Force and to celebrate its formation, several historic World War Two aircraft are at Joe Foss Field Airport in Sioux Falls this week, including the last flying B-29 Superfortress and one of the last two B-24 Liberators still in the air. Joe Broker flies both historic warplanes for the Commemorative Air Force. He served in the Air National Guard and is a former airline pilot.
