Prohibition Ends On Pine Ridge

For the first time in decades the Pine Ridge Reservation is lifting prohibition. Alcohol has long been illegal on the reservation.  But, in a referendum vote tribal residents narrowly approved lifting the ban.

The official count is 1871 yes to 1679 no.

South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s Charles Michael Ray has more.
