In South Dakota, Jews Live Surrounded By A Christian Society

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments for and against offering prayers before public meetings. Depending on the outcome, the Rapid City Common Council might face a lawsuit for its practice of starting meetings with predominantly Christian prayers.
In a five-part series, SDPB is taking a look at various religions in the state and how followers view Christian practices that are woven into government institutions. For today's Dakota Digest, Victoria Wicks speaks with followers of Judaism in the Black Hills, a very small minority in an area with a large Christian majority.
