A group of more than 200 farmers and business owners along the Missouri River have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. They're seeking compensation for claims the agency mismanaged the river since 2006, particularly the 2011 flooding that devastated hundreds of thousands of acres of mostly farmland in South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The plaintiffs are represented by the Polsinelli and Chohen, Milstein, Sellers and Toll Law Firms. Attorney Seth Wright of Polsinelli Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri joined Dakota Midday along with Tekamah, Nebraska farmer and businessman Scott Olson. A representative of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District says the Corps is aware of the filing but, as a standard practice, can't comment on the lawsuit.
