Sioux Falls Police are examining evidence in a homicide investigation which is now more than a week old. Authorities say someone killed 56-year-old Kari Kirkegaard in her home on Saturday, March 15th. Some tips came in through the weekend, but authorities haven't identified the person they believe is directly related to Kirkegaard's death.
Officer Sam Clemens says investigators are combing through surveillance video, looking for additional indicators.
"We found the one video from the nearby business. The others, it's looking to see if we can find the same people on the video, maybe help to establish some type of timeline. I think that's kind of the direction they're looking at," Clemens says.
Clemens says police are on the right track to finding the person responsible for Kirkegaard's death. Police haven't released an official cause of death, and autopsy results could take weeks.
The Sioux Falls Police Department released this surveillance video. Officials request people with information call Crime Stoppers at 605-367-7007.
