President Obama will address to the nation Wednesday evening to explain his plans to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS. The U.S. plans include helping Iraqi and Kurdish troops take back areas under ISIS control. Qadir Aware is a former Kurdish freedom fighter who came to Sioux Falls as a refugee in 1977. He’s the former director of the city’s Multi-Cultural Center. He still has family members in Iraq and says he’s willing to go back and defend his people against ISIS. Qadir Aware joined Dakota Midday and shared his perspective on the fight against ISIS and what he'd like to hear from President Obama.
