Harvest Hits Admist Grain Train Backlog

A shortage of rail cars in South Dakota is hampering the movement of grain to market.

Railroads have sent many cars to the booming North Dakota oil fields – leaving some farmers with no way to transport their produce.

Pressure on the Surface Transportation Board from the South Dakota congressional delegation forced some changes to stem the problem.    But the backlog of grain remains.
