Committee Reviews EB-5 Responses

Lawmakers in Pierre are examining EB-5 and other economic development programs in South Dakota ahead of their final report and recommendation. They've also scheduled their next meeting for after the November election.

A resolution during the last legislative session directs the Government Operations and Audit Committee to revew audits and recommend solutions to weaknesses in state law and government policy. Lawmakers sent questions to two governors to find out what they knew about EB-5 in South Dakota and when they knew it. This week committee members review answers about possible corruption and construct questions for another key player in the state's EB-5 administration.
