An anti-police brutality march and rally now has a green light from city officials.
Earlier this week the Rapid City police chief denied a permit for the event-citing public safety concerns at the nearby Lakota Nation Invitational tournament.
Organizers say efforts to block the protest restricted their free speech rights, they were ready to hold an event without a permit. But after protest organizers and city officials met an agreement was reached to grant the event a permit.
The rally will now take place between 1 and 3pm around the Memorial Park Band Shell in Rapid City on Friday the 19th.
