The University of South Dakota School of Education is hosting a professional development workshop this week on the topic of Culturally Responsive Teaching. Renowned scholar Dr. Geneva Gay will begin with a keynote speech this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in Vermillion. Today, Dr. Donald Easton-Brooks, Dean of the School of Education, joins Dakota Midday for a conversation about what culturally responsive teaching looks like in the classroom. From notions of privilege, to eliminating micro-aggressions, Brooks explores overcoming cultural bias to embrace success for all students.
