Dwayne Wilcox is a Lakota artist who works in both ledger art and sculpture. His work hangs at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in New York City. He also has a show called “Cut and Paste” at the Dahl Arts Center through the summer. His work examines current Native culture with a keen sense of observation, craftsmanship, and humor.
SDPB’s Charles Michael Ray caught up with Dwayne Wilcox while he was installing the current show at the Dahl. He asked about the message the artist hopes to convey through ledger art.
