In The Moment ... May 2,2017 Show 084 Hour 1
To love someone is inherently risky. Poet Christine Stewart's book "Untrussed" explores the promises of love and loss. If you joined the SDPB Book Club last year, you recently discovered a copy of "Untrussed" in your mailbox. She joins us today to talk about "wonderful rejections," autobiography in poetry and more.
Dr. Malcolm Jameson grew up in the Warden's House at the South Dakota State Penitentiary. A new SDPB-TV documentary called "Big House Boy" airs on May 4th and explores life in a changing Sioux Falls and how the state prison was Jameson's childhood playground. SDPB's Brad Van Osdel joins us to talk about the project.
Dr. Dave Kapaska is President and CEO of Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. He's also been at the center of economic development in the city as chair of the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and on the management committee of Forward Sioux Falls. Dr. Kapaska is set to retire in June. We talk about growth, compassion, and how our descendants might look back at access to healthcare in America.
