The International Collegiate Programming Competition is underway in Rapid City. One-hundred 33 teams from around the country and around the world are working to solve real-world problems through computer programming and software development. Richard Gowen is President of Excellence in Computer Programming Incorporated, which is hosting the event. He spoke with SDPB's Cara Hetland earlier this month about the scope of the competition and the logistics of hosting an international event in South Dakota.
Artist Dale Lamphere says the sculpture Dignity “represents the courage, perseverance and wisdom of the Lakota and Dakota culture in South Dakota.”The sculpture stands in Chamberlain, South Dakota, but this week, visitors from across the globe will hear the story of Dignity from South Dakota's artist laureate at the International Collegiate Programming Contest in Rapid City.
