In The Moment ... June 14, 2017 Show 114 Hour 2
South Dakota Public Broadcasting helps you prepare for the upcoming film "The Vietnam War" by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. The film debuts on SDPB-TV and PBS nationwide on September 17. SDPB is hosting special screenings and conversation throughout the summer across the state. Saturday, we were in Custer. Tonight you can join us in Sioux Falls at the VFW Post 628. We're asking the question: What is the legacy of the Vietnam War in South Dakota. How did it change your life. How did it change the lives of those around you? This weekend SDPB's Chynna Lockett and Dave Foote sat down with Vietnam veterans in Custer willing to share just a piece of their stories. We'd like to bring a few of those conversations to you now. (Featuring Clark Mola, Jerry Hook, and Ted English.)
Dakota Political Junkies Jon Hunter and Jonathan Ellis discuss the latest in national and state politics. Today we dive in to Twitter and the impact on journalism, public service, and the nature of truth. We also discuss the BPI lawsuit against ABC, as well as non-meandering waters and the nature of compromise.
Join SDPB tonight at the Sioux Falls VFW Post 628 for a screening of the PBS documentary "The Vietnam War." At tonight's event, we're joined by South Dakota Veterans Affairs Deputy Secretary Aaron Pollard and Erin Bultje, the State Veteran Services Officer. We welcome Erin Bultje to the program.
