In The Moment ... June 22, 2017 Show 120 Hour 2
As Congressional Republicans push forward what Vice President Mike Pence calls the "largest tax cuts since the days of Ronald Reagan," we caught up with South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem yesterday. We talked about the hallmarks of the GOP tax reform plan and discussed the role of women in the international peace process and the continuing challenge of healthcare in Indian Country. As we long for civility in a digital world, we might do well to look to the lessons of history as a starting point. Matthew Moen is president of the Gettysburg Foundation. The organization oversees the operation of the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center in Pennsylvania. We talk with him about lessons from Gettysburg for today’s political discourse.
SDPB's Steve Thum visited the Lords and Ladies of the Siouxland Renaissance Festival in southeast South Dakota. He wrote about it on the SDPB Living blog. He joins us with highlights.
