Deb Peters is a South Dakota state senator. She represents District 9 and she serves on the Government Operations and Audit Committee. The committee meets July 24th and 25th to discuss new processes and procedures designed to prevent conflicts of interest when the state contracts with private corporations or individuals. In the Moment host Lori Walsh talks with Deb Peters about current lawsuits regarding Mid-Central Educational Cooperative, the statutory authority limitations of the state legislature, and how lawmakers intend to go forward and prevent the abuse of taxpayer dollars.
