Fifty-five years ago today, Ringo Starr joined The Beatles. A left-handed percussionist from Liverpool, Starr rose to international fame with the group, battled drug and alcohol addiction, and eventually moved on to become an elder statesmen in the music industry. Biographer Michael Starr’s book is called “Ringo: With a Little Help.”
