Five years ago this weekend, an ice storm devastated eastern South Dakota, and our next guest had qualified for the Boston Marathon. She left the ice-coated crippled trees looming over her house and headed east for the chance to stand at the starting line with elite runners from across the globe.
It was April 15, 2013, and 18 minutes after receiving her medal, bombs exploded near the finish line.
