Karen Mortimer, Executive Director of Mniluzahan Okolakiciyapi Ambassadors (MOA) joined In The Moment for an update on efforts to transform race relations in the Black Hills.
Karen Mortimer, was accompanied by two other members of MOA.
Heather Dawn Thompson, primary researcher for Indian Schools Lands project, gave us an update on the history project related to the Rapid City Indian School lands : An Inconvenient Truth Part 2: Boarding School/Sioux San Lands and Segregation in Rapid City.
Sarah Pierce, Director of Indian Education for the RCAS, talked about new projects related to a model being rolled out this fall to expand the curriculum knowledge and methods to teach the Oceti Sakowin Educational Understandings in the RCAS. She will also touch on the initiative related to the teaching and learning of Lakota Language.
