Dr. Richard Holm is a physician who has had to face his own mortality and used the wisdom found there to help others face their own.
He built a medical practice in Brookings that specialized in geriatrics. He expanded into broadcasting with work on television and radio and became well-known on SDPB as "The Prairie Doc." He was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
Yet, he was diagnosed with cancer shortly after. Through chemotherapy and surgery, he's continued to share his story and encouraged others to ask the questions "How well will I live?" instead of "How long will I live?"
Dr. Holm joined today’s In The Moment to discuss his new book is "A Guide for Aging and Dying with Grace."
