Officials are issuing a public health warning over water conditions at Lake Mitchell.
The city’s warning, issued Wednesday, said a harmful algae bloom may make Lake Mitchell unsafe for people and animals.
Authorities are asking everyone to avoid swimming in the lake. They’re also advising against activities where you might come in contact with water, such as water skiing.
The city has long sought solutions for water quality issues at Lake Mitchell, like dredging, but plans have thus far gotten caught up over cost concerns.
