Since joining NIPR in March 2011, Sean has worked to raise the news profile of WBOI by increasing its presence around the community. He's also helped bring WBOI to a national audience by placing local stories on NPR's flagship shows and APM's Marketplace Morning Report. Sean is the local host of Morning Edition and former co-host of Midday Matters.

In Greensboro, N.C., the city's minor league team, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, is mourning their former bat dog, Miss Babe Ruth. She retired in 2015 after fetching bats and delivering balls for 649 consecutive home games over nine seasons. She died of cancer on Friday at 12.

Her name is Miss Babe Ruth and last night in North Carolina, she took to the field for the final time for the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The dog has been a fan favorite for years retrieving bats and taking balls to umpires at the minor league ballpark.

In her 17 day trip to the U.S., Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has stopped in places you'd expect like Washington, D.C., and New York City. But on Tuesday she's set to speak in Fort Wayne, Ind. The city is home to one of the largest Burmese-American communities in the country.
