  • Kathy Graves is one of the more well-known coaches in South Dakota when it comes to high school volleyball. She started the Northwestern volleyball program and helped lay the foundation for the powerhouse that they became. She also led the Wildcats to 338 career wins, won three state championships, and was runner-up four times.
  • It's been 40 years since the high school state football championships have existed in South Dakota. SDPB's Craig Mattick talks to four of the five Joe Robbie MVP award recipients from that inaugural year; Jay Schroeder of Bridgewater, Steve Korn of Freeman, Dan Olson of De Smet, and Jack Sharkey of Winner.
  • Chris (Sandvig) Dummermuth was a female pioneer for tennis in South Dakota, having success as both a collegiate athlete, when there was no women's team, and as a high school coach.
  • Dave Dolan coached high school track and field for nearly four decades at Rapid City Central. During his 18-years as the head coach, he led the Cobblers girls track team to two state championships and four runner-up finishes.
  • He was a part of five teams over the span of seven years in the National Football League. Neil Graff, a graduate of Sioux Falls Lincoln and the University of Wisconsin, is one of just two quarterbacks born in South Dakota to ever play in a regular-season NFL game.
