Gov. Rhoden makes progress on property tax relief & the prison project

On today's show...

Gov. Larry Rhoden's very first executive order established the Project Prison Reset. As part of the order, he created an advisory council to explore the proposed new men's penitentiary.

SDPB's Lee Strubinger shares his reporting on the project and what comes next (1:00 to 8:56).

We get an update from SDPB's Jackson Dircks on a federal court case he's following. He breaks down how allegations against a Canadian-owned swine operation could impact pig barns in Yankton (8:56 to 13:53).

Former legislators Linda Duba and Jean Hunhoff bring their years of experience in the statehouse to their analysis of the 2025 session and Rhoden's political proposals.

They are our Dakota Political Junkies this week (13:53 to 34:45).

Plus, Lt. Gov. Tony Venhuizen unpacks Rhoden's plan for homeowner property tax relief. He offers a timeline of the ups and downs of the property tax saga in South Dakota (34:45 to 48:51).
