Governor Kristi Noem wants to further restrict abortion access in the state. She announced two anti-abortion proposals today during her State of the State speech at the Capitol in Pierre.

More than 35 percent of remaining state Department of Corrections employees have left during the current fiscal year. That’s according to retention numbers the department has released, but officials say that number is getting better.

The South Dakota Department of Health has obtained one-million FlowFlex brand COVID-19 rapid tests. The tests are expected to arrive this week, and are available to the public for no cost.

South Dakota is home to 52 new international refugees. Over half of the people resettled in the state last year came from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country Africa.
