A defeated South Dakota legislative candidate is charged with sexual assault. Bud May, of Kyle, was arrested Sunday for second-degree rape, according to a criminal complaint filed in Pennington County Court.

A legislative leadership committee is greenlighting a report for a proposed property tax cut. The proposal will likely come up during the 2023 legislative session.
