After nearly 50 years in federal prison, Leonard Peltier is free to go home. Outgoing President Biden commuted the sentence of the Native American activist for his role in a 1970's shootout with FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson is re-introducing the Trust in Congress Act. The bipartisan bill prohibits member of Congress, their spouses and children from trading individual stocks during their time in Congress.

After Medicaid Expansion was put into the state constitution by voters, many thought that was the end of the battle. Potential changes in D.C., however, are prompting a legislative effort to tighten South Dakota's Medicaid rules.
