In one of the first local instances of legal pushback against the Trump administration’s deportations, a South Dakota doctoral student has received a reprieve for the time being. Without this, she would have been deported on a revoked visa.

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds says his office is working to right any wrongs South Dakotans experience as the Trump Administration restructures the executive branch. He says his office has taken on 140 requests for assistance.

Sen. John Thune is among the politicians targeted by thieves in a wave of crimes against elected officials and political organizations. Thune’s political action committee -Heartland Values PAC- reportedly lost nearly $6,000 to check fraud.

The community of Yankton is looking for funding to help maintain its Lutheran Social Services (LSS) New American Outreach position. The program was critical following the closure of Cimpl’s meat plant. The program is looking for $3,000 to remain operational for another three months.

Black Hills State University is hosting its 2nd annual Earth Day Festival this Saturday. The festival takes place on the campus green from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
