President Obama's Second Term

The Obama administration said on Sunday that it had met its goal of improving the online health-insurance marketplace for the vast majority of users, but acknowledged it still has extensive work to do. The troubled rollout has damaged the President’s credibility with polls now showing that a majority of Americans view him as untrustworthy. According to a recent CBS News poll, only 49% of Americans says President Obama is honest and trustworthy. When compared to recent two-term presidents, President Obama’s approval rating is similar to that of George W. Bush at this point in his presidency, but lower than both Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan. USD Political Science Professor Chad Newswander talked about what this means for the rest of President Obama’s second term, budget negotiations and the Iran nuclear agreement.
