$200 million intended for housing infrastructure further delayed

Victoria Wicks

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

One of the first bills passed in the 2023 legislative session freed up $200 million to spur housing infrastructure development. That bill was a revived version of a similar bill that passed last year.

Even though the money was originally intended for the 2022 construction season, it remains unspent.

SDPB's Lee Strubinger unpacked the bureaucratic and political roadblocks delaying the funds.

He joined In the Moment to discuss.
