Gov. Kristi Noem has signed the first bills of the 2024 legislative session into law.
The governor signed four bills Wednesday, including a pair of bills dealing with state-tribal relations.
One extends how long tax agreements with tribes can last. The other fixes an oversight that cut tribes out of a $200 million state housing infrastructure program.
But lawmakers and the governor still have a lot on their plate this session. Over 450 bills have already been introduced, most of which have yet to have their first committee hearing.
