The Attorney General’s Office released final ballot explanations for two potential constitutional amendments put forth by South Dakota legislators.
Senate Joint Resolution 501 would authorize the state to impose a work requirement on people who are eligible for expanded Medicaid benefits.

Both proposed constitutional amendments will appear on this year’s general election ballot. A majority vote is required to pass each measure.
The explanations come after a review of comments received during a 10-day comment period. The AG’s office said only one comment was received.
