South Dakota Secretary of State Monae Johnson says a post-election audit found minimal issues in the 2024 primary election.
This is the state’s first audit of this type. Johnson drove a push for the legislature to establish audits in 2023 shortly after she was elected.
Johnson said there were no significant discrepancies from the manually counted audit and what machines counted the night of elections.
Not all counties had to conduct post-election audits due to recounts.
