South Dakota leaders react to Biden dropping out of presidential race

South Dakota leaders are reacting to Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race.

Gov. Kristi Noem and Rep. Dusty Johnson both posted on X that this was the “right decision for our nation.”

Sen. John Thune said it doesn’t matter who the DNC candidate is and that he believes the American people want a change.

Sen. Mike Rounds said although he disagrees with Biden on policy - he “commends his dedication to service and love of country.” However, he also said he worries about inflation and other issues during the rest of Biden’s term.

Jackson Dircks is a Freeburg, Illinois, native. He is pursuing a degree in English, Journalism and Secondary Education at Augustana University and planning to graduate in May 2025. He plans to pursue a career in sports journalism.
