New PBS FRONTLINE documentary follows two families over 30 years

PBS FRONTLINE

This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

It's an election year, and the state of the economy is top-of-mind for many voters. Both parties are making their cases to the American people that they're the right economic choice.

A new PBS FRONTLINE documentary explores the stories of two families who have heard this campaign promise over the past six presidential administrations.

"Two American Families: 1991-2024" follows the Stanleys and the Neumanns over 30 years, starting in the 90s when the primary earners of both families lost their jobs.

Tom Casciato is the producer and director and Kathleen Hughes is the producer, director and writer of the documentary.

They join "In the Moment" to talk about the lessons they learned while following the Stanleys and Neumanns.
