The Bennett County government agrees to open a satellite voting location to better serve indigenous communities.
This comes following claims the county violated the civil rights of Native Americans by limiting access to polls.
Bennett County lies within the boundaries of the Pine Ridge Reservation, though county seat Martin is culturally split.
The agreement aims to make voting and registration opportunities available to Native voters outside Martin city limits.
According to a memorandum between the US Justice Department and Bennett County, the office will be housed in Allen in the northwestern corner of the county.
