A legislative panel is re-issuing more specific subpoenas to compel Department of Revenue leaders to testify before the group.
The Government Oversight and Audit Committee issued subpoenas in October, which are being challenged in court.
Republican Senator David Wheeler said the new subpoenas approved on Thursday provide more details on what the group is looking for.
“This is the process we have to do to make sure we’re continuing to move forward on the investigation and ensuring that we as a legislature are doing our appropriate oversite duties," Wheeler said.
Wheeler, who is a lawyer, said more specific subpoenas may better withstand the legal process.
The panel wants to hear from Revenue Secretary Michael Houdyshell and Division of Motor Vehicles head Rosa Yeager.
The investigation and subpoenas center around alleged crimes committed by former employees that have been charged by the Attorney General’s office.
The group wants to hear from those leaders on April 1.
