Gov. Kristi Noem’s confirmation hearing for Secretary of Homeland Security is postponed until Friday.
Noem was scheduled to appear before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Wednesday morning.
It’s now scheduled for Friday at 8 a.m. CT/7 a.m. MT, according to the committee's website.
Noem is the third cabinet appointee to face a hearing postponement this week. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and former Rep. Doug Collins both had their hearings pushed back for secretary of interior and secretary of Veteran Affairs, respectively.
President-elect Donald trump appointed Noem for Secretary of Homeland Security in November. If she's approved by the full Senate, Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden would fulfill the rest of Noem's term as governor of South Dakota.
