Ballots are set for the upcoming Rapid City Common Council elections scheduled for June.

Two wards have no opposition and are presumably easy carries for their longtime incumbents – Bill Evans in Ward 2 and Greg Strommen in Ward 3.

Across town though, races are heating up. In Ward 1, outgoing incumbent Jessie Ham has created an opening for a race between Monument Health Doctor Stephen Tamang and real estate agent Larry Adams.

In Ward 4, incumbent Lance Lehmann faces a challenge from Journey On program director Eltina Three Stars.

In the fifth, incumbent Pat Roesland is challenged by tourism advocate Callie Meyer, who works for Visit Rapid City.

Petition circulation closed this week, and election day is June 3.
