Rhoden seeks input following Rep. Reder's resignation from House seat

Facebook

Gov. Larry Rhoden is asking for input on filling a state House of Representatives vacancy. This follows the resignation of Republican Rep. Chris Reder.

Reder represented District 1, which includes the counties of Brown, Day, Marshall and Roberts. He was elected to the state House of Representatives this past November and served during the 2025 legislative session.

Reder announced his resignation on social media Thursday citing “personal and professional reasons.”

Reder had been facing state residency questions in the media, but did not address those in his resignation.

That now makes two open seats in the legislature. Gov. Rhoden also needs to fill Sen. David Wheeler’s open seat in District 22 following his appointment to serve as a judge in the state’s Third Circuit.
