This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

A three-year research project at Wind Cave National Park seeks to unearth secrets from the park's fossil record.

Researchers will compare the animals of the past and present to better understand the future of the park's fauna as the climate changes.

Rachel Short, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at South Dakota State University. Nate Fox, Ph.D., is the associate director of the Museum of Geology at the School of Mines.

They take us into how they've designed the project and how they'll present their findings to the public.
