SDSU researcher explores plant pathology against fungal disease

The National Science Foundation is helping one South Dakota researcher dig into plant pathology.

Gazala Ameen, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at South Dakota State University. She received funding from the NSF's New Faculty Enhancement program to study how plants defend themselves against fungal diseases.

She'll also explore how these defenses can be harnessed to improve food security.
