Breaking bread in a time of political polarization

On today's show...

"Now Hear This: Breakthroughs in Recorded Sound" is a new exhibit at the Old Courthouse Museum that explores the history of captured audio.

Adam Nelson, Siouxland Heritage Museums' marketing coordinator and researcher for the exhibit, takes listeners from Thomas Edison's recording of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" to modern music (1:00 to 14:48).

We then dive into the history of South Dakota radio. Dean Sorenson spent a lifetime building and expanding the state's radio stations. He was recently inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame (14:48 to 32:04).

Plus, having a happy holiday without political headaches.

Alexander Heffner, host of "The Open Mind" on PBS and "Breaking Bread with Alexander," digs into how to talk to people you disagree with over a hearty meal (32:04 to 49:07).

Lori Walsh is the host and senior producer of "In the Moment."
