How the proposed State Library budget cuts would impact rural towns

Gov. Kristi Noem proposed cutting the State Library's budget by 64% this legislative session.

Advocates say that would impact every library — in communities and in schools — across the state.

A roundtable of librarians join "In the Moment" to discuss how the budget cut would affect services in rural and urban South Dakota.

Jane Heitman-Healy is a former South Dakota State Library employee and Siouxland Libraries associate.

Elizabeth Fox is the South Dakota Library Association's executive board president and a librarian at the H.M. Briggs library at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

And Sarah Jones-Lutter is the Redfield Carnegie Library director and the former South Dakota Library Association president.
