The Canyon Lake All-Stars defeated the I-90 All-Stars 4-1 on Monday night in the South Dakota Little League title game.

Canyon Lake will play Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday in Valley Springs, SD. Fargo won the North Dakota Little League championship with a 28-0 victory over Moorhead. To make the Fargo team even more impressive, they didn’t give up a single run in the North Dakota state tournament.

In an interview with the Rapid City Journal on Monday evening, Canyon Lake manager Bill Holec spoke about preparing for a powerhouse like Fargo with a trip to Regionals on the line.

“Lot s of runs, lots of home runs, but it’s pretty new up there,” said Holec. “It’s hard to prepare for something like that, but they don’t know anything about us, so we’ll see what we got. I always say, I only worry about the guys in yellow.”

The winner of the Fargo – Canyon Lake game will advance to Midwest Regionals in Indianapolis on August 5-11. Whoever wins the regional tournament will advance to the Little League World Series.
