Chamberlain's Nash Hutmacher Commits To Nebraska

Nash Hutmacher, Nebraska Football

On Saturday, Chamberlain star athlete Nash Hutmacher announced that he will attend the University of Nebraska for football in the Fall of 2020. Hutmacher announced his commitment to UNL with a statement on twitter.

Nash Hutmacher Statement

“First, I would like to say I can not thank my parents enough for all they have done for me over the years. None of this would be possible without them. Also, I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates that have pushed me to become the athlete and person I am today. Lastly, I would like to thank the community of Chamberlain for all of the support in my career so far. With that I am committing to the University of Nebraska GBR.”

Hutmacher had his official visit to UNL in April. Along with the Cornhuskers, the Chamberlain Cub was also considering offers from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Oregon.

Next season, Hutmacher will enter his senior year of high school. In 2018 he recorded just north of 100 tackles, which included ten sacks on the season.

Along with being a beast on the football field, Hutmacher is also one of the top high school heavyweight wrestlers that South Dakota has ever seen. To this point he has won three straight state championships, with his eyes set on four-in-a-row next February. He also has over 100 victories throughout his high school career.

Now nicknamed ‘The Polar Bear,’ Hutmacher originally announced that he would wait until July to make his college decision. However, that all changed Saturday June 29th when he announced his commitment to Nebraska.
